The Laboratory of Logistics and Production Processes Automation was officially opened on 20 April. The hosts - the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Stanisław Iwan and Artur Kujawski, MA, the laboratory supervisor, received Minister Marek Gróbarczyk, the Rector, Professor Wojciech Ślączka, the MUS authorities as well as members of the Senate and Development Council of the Faculty - representatives of institutions and companies in the maritime and transport sector.
On 14 April 2018, the Polish Academic Rowing Machine Championships were held in Warsaw.
An international project entitled "A Pan-European Network for Marine Renewable Energy with a Focus on Wave Energy", filed as a part of the COST programme, has obtained an approval. This is a networking action connecting over 100 participants from 25 countries.

A meeting of the representatives from the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation was held on 5th April 2018 at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The theoretical module of the military training in the Academic Legion of the Maritime University of Szczecin has finished. On Saturday, 24 March, 49 participants, including 10 women, took the exam. All of them completed the exam successfully, thus, passing the theoretical part of the military training in the Academic Legion.
The Maritime University in Szczecin and Kongsberg Maritime Poland Sp. z o.o. signed a framework agreement regulating the terms of cooperation in th earea of research, education and human resources.
The ranking list of projects co-financed in the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020 was published on 12 March 2018.
Significant co-financing for the New Horizons project from the National Centre for Research and Development for the Maritime University of Szczecin. "The Cheque" for almost 7 million Polish zlotys was handed over by Jarosław Gowin, the Minister of Science and Higher Education visiting Szczecin.
