Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Maritime University of Szczecin, announces that on June 12, 2013, in the Senate Hall of the Maritime University of Szczecin was held a public defense of the doctoral dissertation of Robert Wladyslaw Bauer, MSc.

Careers Office in cooperation with the Centre for Transfer of Marine Technology is currently preparing an EU project in which students of the senior years of study and graduates of the University will be able to participate in paid internships at their potential employers’.

Council of the Faculty of Geodesy and Spatial Planning, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, on May 7, 2013 as a result of the positive acceptance of the habilitation colloquium conferred the postdoctoral degree to Janusz Uriasz, PhD in the discipline of geodesy and cartography.

On April 27 (Saturday), in the Prof. Laski lecture hall the finale of the Provincial Geographic-Nautical Competition was held, for 6 years the organizer of which has been the Maritime University of Szczecin. The competition was entered by contestants representing 58 high schools from Chojna, Choszczno, Goleniów Gryfice, Kolobrzeg, Lobez, Pyrzyce, Stargard, Świdwin, Swinoujscie and Szczecin. On behalf of the organizer - Maritime University of Szczecin the contest participants and accompanying caregivers were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Navigation for extramural studies, Jacek Frydecki, MSc, Master Mariner.

On 22-23 April in Krakow Agricultural University the 8th Conference of the Geodetic Student Scientific Societies was held.

22 March in the Baltic countries is celebrated as the Day of the Protection of the Baltic Sea. The Helsinki Commission has established it in 1997 as a part of World Water Day. On this occasion, on 21 March this year in the Maritime School of Darłowo the First International Competition on Knowledge of the Baltic Sea for high school students.

On 19 March this year in the conference room at the Novotel was held a pre-navigational meeting entitled ‘Polish Inland Shipping 2013’, organized by the Polish Association of Inland Shipowners. The guests of honor at the meeting were, Mrs Anna Wypych-Namiotko, Undersecretary of State in the MTBiGM, Mr. Stanislaw Gawlowski - Secretary of State in the Ministry of Environment, Vice-Speaker of the West Pomeranian Marshal's Office, the Directors of Inland Shipping Authorities, representatives of the National Water Management, Maritime Offices, Harbor Master Offices , Polish Register of Shipping, BGK and Schiffuntersuchungkomision, Wasser und Schiffahrtsamt, Wasserschutzpolizeiwache Brandenburg. The Faculty of Navigation was represented by Vice-Dean for part-time studies Jacek Frydecki, a member of the Council for the Promotion of Inland Waterway Transport at the Ministry TBiGM.

On5-9.03.2013 Maritime University of Szczecin participated in the most important international fair of information technology and digital industry, CeBIT 2013 in Hanover. 

The field of navigation at the Faculty of Navigation, Maritime University of Szczecin will receive from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education 1.000 000 PLN grant for the implementation of a training program in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

On 26.10.2012 in the conference hall of the Słoneczny Młyn Hotel in Bydgoszcz, a meeting of the Council for promotion of Inland Shipping was held. The council was established by the Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy.
On 10-13 October 2012, took place the twelfth International Conference on Transport Systems Telematics TST 2012. The conference, organized by the Silesian University of Technology, began in Katowice, (Krakow - Pyrzowice Airport) to be continued in Ustroń Slaski. The covered issues related to telematics in its general sense, as well as its use in transport.
On 1-3 October in Cairo was held the XIVth World Congress of Navigation organized by the International Association of Institutes of Navigation - IAIN (International Association of Institutes of Navigation). Arkadiusz Tomczak, PhD, Master Mariner, Maritime University of Szczecin worker, participated in the Congress. On the eve of the start of the Congress, meetings of the IAIN Board, IAIN General Assembly, EUGIN Board (European Group of Institutes of Navigation) and the Supervisory Board of the European Journal of Navigation were held. The Polish delegation to the annual meetings of the association was formed by Arkadiusz Tomczak, PhD and Prof. Krzysztof Czaplewski (Vice-President of the Polish Navigational Forum, Chairman of EUGIN Council) who took part in the world and European meetings of the navigation associations.
