On 19.04.2010 at the Ministry of Infrastructure a consecutive meeting devoted to the preparations of the Polish maritime administration flag project: “Create a Network of Centers of Excellence for Maritime Training ” led by Dorota Lost-Siemińska, the director of the Department of Maritime Transport and Inland Shipping, was held. Our University was represented by Vice Rector Przemysław Rajewski, director of IMN Janusz Uriasz and Magda Markiewicz, specialist for project management.
Anna Wypych-Namiotko, vice minister of infrastructure wished success in project realization.
On 28.04.2010, at IMO center of PRS in Gdansk, there was held a meeting devoted to professional training and watch keeping standards (STW). The Faculty of Navigation of the MU of Szczecin was represented by Janusz Uriasz, the director of the Institute of Marine Navigation.
On 23-25.04.2010, the Institute of Technical Operation of Marine Power Plants and the Institute of Marine Navigation of the Maritime University of Szczecin organized the 6th Explo-Ship International Conference 2010
From 02-07.05.2010 in Vienna European Geosciences Union held its conference, attended by about 10 thousand people from all over the world!
Janusz Uriasz, director of the Institute of Marine Navigation took part in the conference, presenting his paper dealing with integrity of navigational parameters.
On 23.04.2010, we took the honor to receive Willem de Ruiter, the founder and Director General of European Maritime Safety Agency in Lisbon, who paid his first visit to the Maritime University of Szczecin.
On 05-06.05.2010 in Gdansk, a conference devoted to consolidation of the current works within Baltic Master II Project (Baltic Master II Midway Conference), organized by the Maritime Institute in Gdansk and the Swedish region of Blekinge, the leader of the project, was held. The honorary patronage of the conference was taken by the President of Gdansk, Mr Pawel Adamowicz. The conference was attended first of all by representatives of institutions and organizations- the main participants of the project.
On 04-07.05.2010, in Alesund (Norway) 6 working groups of the Efficiensea Project participated in a meeting devoted to the information exchange and work coordination. Maritime University of Szczecin was represented by Pawel Zalewski, PhD, the member of working groups 4 and 6.

On 12.05.2010, during a scientific seminar of the Institute of Marine Navigation the following papers were presented:

  1. “Review of  the scientific activity” by Prof. Evgeny Ochin,
  2. “Determination of  potential hazards to LNG terminals based on Swinoujscie LNG terminal” by Karolina Cieszyńska, MSc,
  3. “An analysis of ram -wings application to marine search and rescue operations” by Marzena Górtowska , MSc.

The seminar was attended by lecturers of all the departments of the Institute of Marine Navigation.

Dean of the Faculty of Navigation has announced an open competition for the position of an assistant at the Department of Ship Construction and Operation of the Institute of Sea Navigation of the Faculty of Navigation of the Maritime University of Szczecin.
On 22-23.04.2010 at the Maritime University of Gdynia the consecutive meeting of the Department of the Ministry of Infrastructure for the development of seafarers’ professional qualifications standards, was held.
On 21-22.04.2010 at the Technical University of Gdańsk a final conference concerning an ordered research project Nr PBZ-MEiN-7/2/2006 of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education was held.
On 14.04.2010 at the Navigational Faculty Council the analysis of the winter semester was presented as well as the extramural study program for the field of Geodesy and Cartography was approved.
On 14.04.2010 at the scientific seminar of the Institute of Marine Navigation 10 following papers were presented.
On 14.04.2010 at the Navigational Faculty Council the Dean Jerzy Hajduk handed in the Ministry of Infrastructure Prize to Kamil Tarnowski, a second year student of SeaTransport, for his outstanding sport results in rowing. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
On 26.04.2010 at the Faculty of Transport and Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Radom an open PhD thesis defense of Zbigniew Krawczyk MSc was held. The thesis dealt with “Mobile sensor nets applied to early warning and road accident prevention.
