The Maritime University of Szczecin made an attempt at beating the Guinness Record in simultaneous CPR being done by the largest number of people. In this way, we joined the event of the Polish Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation.
We are pleased to inform that our quarterly Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin has been indexed in a new database lunched in the year 2015 Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)in the Web of Science™ Core Collection of Thomson Reuters. We appreciate this award very much as well as the recognition of our commitment to continuous quality improvement of our quarterly. We are confident that presence in the ESCI will increase the international visibility and readership of the Journal.
The State Maritime School was located in the building in Wały Chrobrego Street in the years 1963-72. A stone commemorating this fact was officially unveiled on Saturday morning, right before the Inauguration Ceremony of the academic year at the Maritime University of Szczecin.
The Polish Steamship Company will test samples of fuels for its vessels in the Centre for Fuel and Pressure Fluid Testing and Environmental Protection of the Maritime University of Szczecin. The agreement between the ship operator and the university was signed on Wednesday, 28th September 2016 by the General Director of Polish Steamship Company, Paweł Szynkaruk and the Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin, Wojciech Ślączka.
The Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin conducted by Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch took part, last week (13-18.09), in the 6th International Choral Competition "CANÇÒ MEDITERRÀNIA" in Lloret de Mar/Barcelona. The Szczecin ensemble, following a fierce fight, won the highest distinctions: three Gold Diplomas in the categories of sacred, folklore and pop music.
It’s still a month before the new academic year begins, but we have already welcomed 34 future students of the Maritime University of Szczecin coming e.g. from Ukraine and Belarus. They will begin their stay in Szczecin with a course in the Polish language.
During the last two weeks of July, six students from our University participated in a summer school in the beautiful Portuguese town of Aveiro located on the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a well-known resort described as “Portuguese Venice” due to a network of channels with gondolas sailing on them as well as picturesque tenement houses with characteristic tiled facades. Within 10 minutes, one can get to sandy beaches, which change their width depending on the tide. All this with a lighthouse in the background… Yet, let us start from the very beginning.
We hereby inform, that the quarterly Zeszyty Naukowe Akademii Morskiej w Szczecinie, Scientific Journals of the Maritime University of Szczecin following Decision No. 790/P-DUN /2016 of 17 June 2016 received funding for the years from 2016 to 2017 from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland for the activities of promoting science.
On 30th June 2016, the ceremony of presenting the participants of the 5th edition of post-graduate studies in "Management and Auditing in Environmental Protection" conducted at the Faculty of Economics and Transport Engineering with completion diplomas was held in the Tradition Chamber of the Maritime University of Szczecin. The following representatives of university authorities participated in the event: Vice Rector for Education Piotr Treichel, PhD, Eng., Second Engineer and Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Engineering of Transport Zofia Jóżwiak, PhD, Eng., Professor of MUS.
On 29.06.2016 at the Faculty of Navigation, the public defence was held of a doctoral dissertation in the field of technical sciences, discipline of transport of Kinga Łazuga, MSc. entitled: "The Model of Optimal Allocation of Oil Spill Response Resources and Measures"
